Homelab Hero · No. 010: your result

Rebuilt from memory. 0 Hero Points.

The switch was already dropping the lab every twenty minutes; now it is down for as long as a from-memory rebuild takes, with every VLAN and trunk riding on recall. The worst part: last week's config backup is sitting on a laptop on the shelf — the restore you actually needed was a file, not a memory test, and a reset erases the logs that would have told you why it was rebooting.

The lesson: Never factory-reset the only path to the network. Restore the backup; keep the logs.
